International Aviation Regulation and Law
The MSc International Aviation Regulation and Law is aimed at those with an interest in the regulatory and legal environment surrounding aviation organisations, who wish to develop their knowledge. It is suitable for those currently employed within the industry, or graduates in subjects such as business, aviation or economics who wish to specialise and develop expertise in the field of aviation and regulation and law. This course will equip you with a comprehensive understanding of how international regulation and law is developed, implemented and reviewed. You will learn how to develop organisational standard operating procedures to ensure they comply with the relevant regulatory and legal frameworks. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to review, understand and implement regulatory and legal frameworks and put them into practice. All aspects of the aviation industry are heavily controlled by a series of complex international law and regulations and you will learn how to apply global regulations as set by International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to a wide range of industry sectors. You will also focus on contract law, commercial law and civil law in relation to aviation businesses.
MSc: Entrants to the programme will normally have achieved a lower second class honours degree in a related field or have a minimum of three years relevant industry management experience. Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate English language skills to IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
You will be assessed through individual and group activities which take place throughout the duration of the course. Summative assessment will be based on real-world cases and projects on a consultancy basis and involve presentations, investigations with report findings and recommendations and business case proposals.
