Leadership and Management
The programme includes interactive residential workshops, action learning and individually customised assessment arrangements which are work-based; on successful completion of stage 1, participants can opt either to continue to the Master's stage or to leave with a diploma qualification (PGDip); at the 2nd stage participants with appropriate tutorial advice and support complete a major project/dissertation leading to the award of an MA.
Applicants require a 2.1 Honours degree.
Year 1: leading teams; strategic leadership; leading change; managing resources. Year 2: dissertation; consultancy project.
In the first year (Stage 1 - postgraduate diploma) there are 4 modules, each with their own assignment. To progress to Year 2 (Stage 2 - MA), students must pass all of the assignments. At the Master's stage, students are required to complete either a major project, which is an extensive work-based intervention, or a students to identify a significant issue, which is then examined, drawing on relevant theory in order to propose a solution, recommendations for action, or conclusions.
