Art and Design Practice (Illustration)
Students have an opportunity for interdisciplinary study under the art or design routes, whilst confirming their research focus and final trajectory; students explore processes and outcomes ranging from pictogram to print; all tutors are professional practitioners; the programme includes a series of workshops in printmaking, animation and digital media; the workshops are equipped for all traditional print methods and the latest digital technology; the programme concludes with a public exhibition of work.
2.1 Honours degree in a related field; applicants without a degree but with experience can be considered on an individual basis. All applicants are interviewed with a portfolio of previous work. In their application students need to include a short research project proposal. For international students, these interviews may be held over Skype or telephone upon submission of the student's portfolio. English language requirements for international applicants are IELTS 6.5.
