Renal Care

This course is suitable for nurses and other professionals allied to medicine who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in renal care in order to positively influence the health outcomes and quality of life for patients with renal care needs.

Entry requirements

1st degree; or at least 60 credits; an appropriate professional qualification e.g. registered nurse, dietician, pharmacist; currently working in an appropriate area of practice that facilitates practice development in renal care (students would typically need to be in clinical contact with patients for at least 2 days per week).

Course modules

The theoretical concepts in renal care; the renal care practitioner.

Assessment methods

Assessments will cover theory and practice, and include written assignments and assessment in practice through the completion of a clinical competency document.
