Students carry out a sustained research study, critically reviewing the current knowledge base of a specific area of educational practice, synthesising research findings, and reaching appropriate conclusions; candidates are expected to be able to make appropriate recommendations relevant to their area of educational practice; if students need or choose to study a particular aspect of a particular programme, or wish to study over a longer period than the standard part-time course, students can study individual modules as an associate student.
A postgraduate diploma in education or postgraduate diploma in education (nursing, midwifery and health visiting) or equivalent.
Modules include: qualitative research methods and analysis; advanced quantitative research methods; capturing professional education; dissertation.
