International Business

The course prepares students for a successful career in the new international business arena by addressing issues of culture, politics, and economics, as well as equipping them with the personal attributes and analytical skills required for careers in the international business world. Today's businesses operate in a dynamic global business environment in which managers have to deal with rapidly changing markets and a climate of tremendous uncertainty. Students will develop a clear understanding of the environment in which international businesses operate in terms of economics, finance and governance, as well as politics and culture. Research methods run through the whole course in preparation for the dissertation. The dissertation provides an opportunity for students to set themselves apart and demonstrate to potential employers a high level of thinking in a specialist area. If students choose to specialise in either marketing or finance through electives and a dissertation in these areas they may be awarded the MSc international business with marketing or MSc international business with finance.
