Effective people management is 1 of the most important issues in every sector of the economy, and the role of human resource management (HRM) professionals in advising and supporting line management to achieve the organisation's objectives has never been more vital.

Entry requirements

Applicants normally qualify for entry to this course by holding either a postgraduate diploma in human resource management or recognised equivalent e.g. CIPD advanced diploma in human resource management, or the CIPD PDS/Graduateship qualification or an equivalent postgraduate diploma in human resource management from a recognised University. Applicants will also need to have at least 2 years' relevant human resources experience and be in a role or business partnership that enables them to be able to undertake the research project.

Course modules

Modules include: research methods; human resources management research report.

Assessment methods

The research methods module is assessed through the production of a written 4,000-word equivalent research proposal. The human resources management research report is assessed through a written research report of 12,000-16,000 words.
