Criminal Justice

The Department has particular strengths in policing, criminal justice and criminology and has a vibrant research culture underpinned by the work of Criminal Justice Practice which supplies applied research, evaluation, consultancy and training to the criminal justice sector on both national and international projects.

Entry requirements

A relevant undergraduate degree 1st or 2.1 and strong academic references.

Assessment methods

For an MPhil the students are required to demonstrate that they can conduct an original investigation, test ideas (those of their own and others) and understand the relationship between the topic investigated and the wider field of knowledge. For a PhD, in addition to the above, the student's thesis should also make an original contribution to knowledge or understanding in their field of study.
