The programme shares modules with the finance course but it focuses on specific managerial or operational aspects; students are advised that the self managed elements must be focused on financial management aspects rather than purely finance or management.
Prospective students should hold an undergraduate degree 2.1 or above; 5 years relevant work experience in the field of finance, or suitable professional qualifications from bodies such as ACCA, CII, CFA, IFS; students whose 1st language is not English will need to provide evidence of fluency to at least an IELTS 6.0 standard.
Modules include: quantitative finance; capital markets and derivatives; corporate finance and risk; management of finance; research methods; professional development and practice in business and management; dissertation. Optional modules: behavioural finance; crisis, risk and strategic change management; contemporary issues in finance, accounting and economics; delivering successful projects; finance of international business; global business strategy; industrial work experience; international management: people and operations; international politics; Islamic investment banking management; managing people and markets across cultures; principles of Islamic finance; project management theory and practice.
Assessment is based on coursework, including written assignments and presentations.
