The course draws students from the public and private sectors, from the UK and abroad; the programme is aimed at those who are looking to develop their careers and at high flyers that need an understanding of all the major functions of business; in addition to enhancing successful students' career prospects, the course aims to encourage independent and creative thinkers; all students complete 7 taught modules (5 compulsory core modules and 2 electives) together with a dissertation.
Degree from a recognised university (minimum 2.2); minimum 5 years relevant management experience; professional or other qualification which is deemed as acceptable for admission.
Modules include: strategic management; operations management; accounting for decision-makers; people and organisations; marketing; final module. Elective modules include: management of finance; capital markets and derivatives; principles of Islamic finance; Islamic investment banking; health informatics; managing people in a global context; developing people for leadership and management; buyer behaviour and relationship marketing; strategic global marketing; product development management; managing the product development process; project management theory and practice; delivering successful projects.
Assessment is based on a combination of examinations, assignments and the final dissertation.
