Events Project Management

The programme is designed to enable students to develop concepts and theories relating to events management, stimulate critical thinking and use multidisciplinary perspectives to transform management problems into opportunities; the core modules provide students with strategic business skills and an essential knowledge of the events sector; the programme also provides students the opportunity to further develop managerial and entrepreneurial skills.

Entry requirements

Applicants require: a related degree 2.2 or above; or a non-graduate qualification which is deemed to be of a satisfactory standard for the purpose of postgraduate admission; applications are welcomed from students who possess significant work experience in a relevant area.

Course modules

Modules include: managing people and markets across cultures; event project planning, mobilisation and evaluation; event tendering, feasibility and conceptualisation; industry project management (with professional accreditation); research methods. Optional modules: tourism, hospitality and events industries in context; internship; crisis, risk and strategic change management. Final project: dissertation, enterprise project or consultancy project.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on coursework.
