Sports and Exercise Medicine
This programme seeks to educate medical doctors and chartered physiotherapists in the field of sport and exercise medicine. The programme provides students with a wide breadth of knowledge across sport and exercise medicine and the necessary skills to apply theory into practice.
Chartered physiotherapy status; or successful completion of undergraduate medical studies and possess membership to the health and care professional council (HCPC) or general medical council (GMC) as appropriate; interest in sport and exercise medicine.
Modules include: sport and exercise medicine 1; sports injuries and clinical methods; sport and exercise science; sport and exercise medicine 2; research process; dissertation.
All modules will be assessed by coursework and the clinical attachment will be assessed by a viva voce examination. Clinical competence will be assessed via an objective structured clinical experience (OSCE).
