The programme aims to increase students evaluative, critical thinking and problem-solving skills and to increase their practical and theoretical knowledge of radiography so that they can apply these skills in the further advancement of their profession.
The course is suitable for qualified diagnostic and therapeutic radiographers with usually at least 2 years� clinical experience. Applicants should hold a 1st degree or a UK diploma in radiography or equivalent and have 2 years post-registration experience with evidence of continuing professional development. Students whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
Core modules include: Research methods in health and social care. Optional specialist modules are also taken.
Assessment methods include coursework, practicals and presentations with image reporting and mammography modules having clinically based assessments.
The majority of students are self-funding; career development loans may be available for full-time study.
