Advanced Practice (Education for Health Professionals)
This is a taught programme. The Education for Health Professionals pathway focusses on evidence based approaches to facilitating learning, teaching, inter professional learning and quality assurance in higher education and clinical practice. Students will be required to plan and implement assessment and evaluation strategies and lead practice and curriculum development activities. This is a specialist pathway of the MSc in Advanced Practice, providing students with a flexible route to pursue their specialist area. Students on this pathway study two compulsory pathway modules focussed on facilitating learning and teaching, and assessment and evaluation.
Applicants should possess an initial or higher degree of an approved institution or a non graduate qualification equivalent to graduation. These programmes are normally open to registered practitioners who possess an initial or higher degree of an approved institution. Where applicants do not hold a 1st degree, applications will be considered on an individual basis. For such applicants, evidence of relevant experience and continued professional development will be requested. Students will normally be health, social care or other professionals with relevant qualifications and registrations. Applicants whose 1st language is not English or Welsh must satisfy the English Language requirements for entry to the university by attainment of a minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS no more than 3 years before the proposed date of entry; individual modules within the programme may have additional entry criteria due to the aims and learning outcomes of the module and/or due to NMC regulations.
