This course develops in students an understanding of the chemical background of biological problems and processes at the interface between chemistry and biology. Students are able to study real life systems and research into areas at the forefront of chemical biology. Differing aspects such as natural product synthesis, biocatalysis and molecular modelling of such systems are all explored.
1st or 2nd Class Honours degree, or equivalent, in chemistry or a related discipline, eg biology, microbiology, chemical engineering, physics, pharmacy, pharmacology or biochemistry. Applicants whose 1st language is not English are required to pass either IELTS or TOEFL examinations.
