Within the broad field of Informatics this research group has a deep and proven interest in knowledge and information systems; areas available for research include: ambient information systems, bioinformatics and biodiversity, constraints and data semantics, data/knowledge mining, geoinformatics and spatial information systems, grid-based distributed information management, healthcare and medical informatics, information quality, information security and privacy, legacy information systems, linked data and the semantic web, resilient information systems, sensor information processing systems, strategic information systems, tractable ontology/hybrid reasoning, and virtual organisations/enterprises/coalitions.
Either a 2.1 Honours degree or a Master's degree with a distinction in the research dissertation, in computing or a related subject; applicants with appropriate professional experience are also considered; applicants whose 1st language is not English need IELTS 6.5, with at least 6.0 in each area.
