Sustainable Energy and Environment
This multidisciplinary programme considers both alternative energy sources and the effective management of traditional fuels and energy systems, integrating this study with environmental/waste issues. The structure of the course is based on 3 main themes: Energy supply, energy demand, and management.
2.1 Honours degree (or equivalent) from a British or recognised overseas university in engineering, environmental engineering, earth sciences or pure sciences, or in a relevant numerate scientific discipline. Applicants with relevant professional experience are considered. Where English is not 1st language IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 600 or 250 (computer-based) is required.
Topics covered include: Sustainable energy and environmental case study; energy management; risk and hazard management; energy studies; hydro environmental modelling; alternative energy systems; waste management and recycling; fuels and energy systems; thermodynamics and heat transfer.
