Teaching is delivered through a programme of regular one-to-one tutorials, seminars and lectures, featuring a wide array of artists and practitioners. Integrated practice and theory elements, aim to help students understand the contexts and conditions that shape and frame contemporary art practice. The course requires students to produce a high level of independent work, underpinned by the course's challenging theoretical curriculum and instruction in approaches to research methodology. Students will be required to re-evaluate and contextualise their work in relation to contemporary fine art practice and to generate discourse with their fellow students and to re-evaluate their practice with each other.

Entry requirements

BA Honours degree or equivalent academic qualifications. A study proposal. Portfolio of work. Details of two referees. Alternative qualifications and experience will also be taken into consideration. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS level 6.5 or above, with at least 5.5 in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
