Insurance and Risk Management
This programme combines a practical approach with sound theory to create a learning experience that is challenging and stimulating; the programme reflects the interfaces between insurance, risk management and financial services, and equips its graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in those industries as risk managers, financial advisers, consultants, underwriters, financial analysts and insurance analysts.
Good Honours degree or an equivalent professional qualification such as FCII, ACII, ACCA or FICS; candidates with significant and relevant work experience in insurance or risk management may also be considered on their merits; GMAT or GRE may also be required in some cases.
The programme consists of 6 compulsory and 6 elective modules, and a dissertation; the choice of the elective modules allows students to specialise in financial services, management of insurance enterprises, risk management and risk modelling; students are able to select modules from the other programmes in the faculty to match career goals.
