This programme provides skills in designing and evaluating interactive systems and other types of computer-based systems in which people are a major element; skills range from advanced human computer interaction design skills, requirement analysis and design, skills in designing and conducting complex evaluations of new or existing software computing systems, and unique expertise in designing and evaluating systems for people with disabilities and the elderly.
Good 2nd Class Honours degree from a UK university, or a recognised equivalent from accredited overseas institution or equivalent professional qualification; applicants should have experience of using computers and writing small programmes, or equivalent experience; applicants should have basic competence and familiarity with mathematics.
Advanced human-computer interaction; evaluation of systems; human-computer interaction design; inclusive design; multimedia; requirements engineering; research, evaluation and communication skills; systems specification; all modules are supported by the university's online learning environment (WebCT, known as CitySpace).
A limited number of informatics scholarships are available to full-time overseas students.
