The taught part of the course is based on 10 modules, of which 5 provide a broad foundation in various aspects of the theory and practice in the field of general management. The 5 management modules are complemented by 5 construction-oriented modules which cover important aspects in the practice of planning, financing, and delivering large scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects. These modules focus on the development of practical management skills within a construction context.
An Honours degree (2.2 minimum) in civil engineering, architecture or a related construction subject; international applicants must have IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 100.
Organisational behaviour and human resource management; operations and information management; corporate governance; advanced practice of management; corporate social responsibility; leadership and management skills; information communication technology for construction management; international construction contracts and arbitration; project planning and management; project funding and finance.
Assessment is through: individual and group assignments; written coursework; and examinations.
