Child Nursing

This course develops students grounding in the general principles of nursing; students study clinical skills, applied biological sciences, sociology, psychology, ethics, health, illnesses and nursing needs of people of all ages and backgrounds; throughout the course, students combine academic study with a range of branch-focused placements in different settings.

Entry requirements

A degree 2.2 or above; in biological, psychosocial, social sciences; social policy or health studies; or vocational health-related degrees; other closely related subjects may also be considered.

Course modules

Introduction to professional practice; introduction to child nursing; care of sick children and their families; consolidation of professional practice; care of the child and family in acute care settings.
