The course offers you a high degree of flexibility in tailoring your own suite of specialist electives to meet with your intellectual and career aspirations. All electives on offer take a contemporary approach to the study of law - your tutors are scholars or practitioners of the highest calibre and are committed to equipping you with the know-how and skills on tackling complex and advanced issues in legal study and practice.
Applicants should hold an upper second class honours degree in law (roughly equivalent to a B or B+) from a recognised international institution. Applicants with a first degree in a subject other than law will be considered, but may restrict the choice of modules where content is dependent on a prior knowledge of law. We expect applicants who are not nationals of a majority English-speaking country or have not successfully completed an academic qualification, at least equivalent to a UK bachelor's degree, which was taught in a majority English-speaking country as defined by the UK Visas and Immigration, to have an overall IELTS score of at least 7.0.
Assessment will draw on a range of approaches which include written coursework, presentations, skills work, in-class tests, projects and a dissertation. The purpose of this is to assess a range of different skills and knowledge, as well as exposing you to different approaches. The majority of modules will be assessed on the basis of written coursework of 5,000-5,500 words.
