The course allows students to gain a good foundation in law and fast-track their legal career. Students benefit from the expertise of academic staff at The City Law School, as well as that of leading visiting lecturers and speakers from the legal profession.The course at City covers the seven core foundation subjects that are prerequisites for taking the professional examinations. The introduction to the Legal Ethics module, which unique to City, also allows you to reflect on the ethical challenges that you might encounter as a lawyer in practice.
A degree (in any subject), of at least an upper second class honours standard, conferred by a university in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland or by the Council for National Academic Awards. Or, an approved degree conferred by a university outside the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, and a very good knowledge of the English language.
Assessment is based on written examinations held at the end of the course; formative coursework given throughout the year will help to prepare you for these examinations. You will be awarded the University's Graduate Diploma in Law upon successful completion of coursework and examinations.
