Global Media and Communications

This course allows students to develop the necessary theoretical frameworks and conceptual tools to analyse and to critically evaluate the implications of the global or globalised media and communication environment that we live in. The course explores through current research and scholarship, the globalisation of the communication and media industries, media ownership and concentration, international agencies, the new communication order, and ethical/rights issues in global media.
