Global Journalism

This course covers all the essential areas of journalism, from the legal issues to interviewing, practical writing and broadcast and web skills. The course draws on established links within the fields of print and broadcast journalism, as well as current research within the School in international media and communication.

Entry requirements

Entry requires a good undergraduate degree in journalism or in a cognate discipline in the arts, humanities or social sciences. Equivalent qualifications from overseas and professional qualifications are also acceptable and, in specific cases, may even be credited towards postgraduate qualification. Applicants with professional/industrial experience and /or training, but not meeting the normal entry requirements will be considered on their merits.

Modules include: law, ethics and public administration; multiplatform journalism practice; global media and communication; specialist professional practice; journalism themes and issues; postgraduate journal; MA journalism research project.
