Contemporary Arts Practice
The course comprises of route specific modules and modules which are shared with the other courses from the 'linked array'; the course culminates in a module entitled MA Major Project, and this includes the production of a body of work for public display and a supporting text based component; throughout the course, students engage in dialogue with their peers irrespective of their own preferred discipline; students collaborate where appropriate through live-art, phonic art and new media or may choose to engage with painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, moving image, lens based art, photography, digital video or expanded cinema.
You will normally have an honours degree in an art or design discipline, but if you are accomplished in an aspect of art and design practice, you will be considered on your merits. Applicants must submit a portfolio presentation of their work in any media and should also demonstrate some experience or knowledge of hybrid media in convergent arts-related activities. Applicants must also have a capacity for critical thinking and reflection and be able to demonstrate this in written form.
