This course explores the key activities in logistics management, ie procurement, production and materials scheduling, inventory management, distribution, and integrated goods flow; it explores the role of analytical methods in simulation, network planning, optimisation and scheduling; at a strategic level, alternative logistics and distribution strategies are presented and the use of e-commerce and information technology systems demonstrated.
A good Honours degree or an equivalent qualification; a relevant professional qualification of equivalent standard (BCS Professional Graduate Diploma, CEng, CIM Diploma an unclassified degree) plus at least 2 years further study or professional experience.
Core modules: Logistics strategy; logistics operations; decision support systems; methods and models; business simulation; E-commerce applications (double module); research methods.
