Petroleum and Environmental Technology
The oil and gas industry is faced with the challenges of meeting environmental standards within the context of increasingly stringent environmental requirements across the globe; the course provides specialist education tailored to the requirements of an integrated upstream petroleum and environmental technology industry.
A good UK Honours degree or an international equivalent (at least 2.2) in engineering, physical sciences, geological sciences, biochemical sciences, and mathematics; HND holders with at least 5 years working experience in the oil and gas industry may also be considered.
Core modules: Drilling and production technology; reservoir technology and simulation; oil and gas processing technology; environmental monitoring; renewable energy; HSE management in the oil and gas industry; project/company internship; 2 options: petroleum contracts and economics; project and quality management in the energy industry; water and wastewater treatment; future of oil and gas; contaminated land management; environmental and energy management.
