Civil and Structural Engineering

This is an accredited Master's course in civil engineering with a strong focus on structural engineering; it is designed for both engineers in employment and students wishing to pursue further study at Master's level; the course has been developed and be delivered in collaboration with civil engineering employers; the taught modules specialise in advanced analysis, design and modelling.

Entry requirements

Normal entry requires a minimum 2.2 undergraduate Honours degree in civil engineering. Applicants with professional/industrial experience and/or training, but not meeting the normal entry requirements, will be considered on their merits. Students whose 1st language is not English should have achieved a minimum English language standard of IELTS 6.5.

Course modules

Modules include: advanced structural analysis; advanced design concepts; finite element analysis of structures; structural dynamics; soil-structure interactions; project management; experimental methods for materials and structures; integrating project.
