Engineering Project Management

Project management has developed from just a specialist activity into a major process for managing change and innovation; in today's rapidly evolving competitive environment, managers and engineers at every level need an in-depth understanding of the concepts and techniques required to manage projects; these can be as diverse as new product development, construction of new manufacturing facilities, implementing changes in organisational structure and culture and many other change related programmes. This course will help technical managers improve their project management skills.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have a 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree in an appropriate discipline. However entry qualifications are flexible and applications are welcomed for mature candidates and those with industrial experience. Students whose 1st language is not English should have achieved a minimum English language standard of IELTS 6.5. Alternatively students may be admitted with IELTS 6.0 if they attend a compulsory 5 week pre-sessional English course, operated by Coventry University, before joining their Master's programme.

Course modules

Modules include: Master's dissertation (industry or academic based); study skills and research methods; financial decision making and risk analysis; people management; project management; management of quality; change management; contract management; advanced project management; global engineering strategy.
