This is an accredited Master's course in civil engineering with taught modules covering a range of subjects from advanced structural analysis and design, to management and contractual issues; it is designed for both engineers in employment and students wishing to pursue further study at Master's level; the course has been developed and be delivered in collaboration with civil engineering employers.
Normal entry requires a minimum 2.2 Honours degree in Civil Engineering. Applicants with professional/industrial experience and/or training but not meeting the normal entry requirements will be considered on their merits. Other engineering degrees may be suitable with appropriate industry experience. Students whose 1st language is not English should have achieved a minimum English language standard of IELTS 6.5.
Project management; construction contracts and law; advanced design concepts; finite element analysis of structures; soil-structure interaction; organisational theory and behaviour; experimental methods for materials and structures; integrating project.
