Production Engineering and Operations Management

This course aims to develop production engineers who will be able to apply technology, business and management skills to respond to the demands of the industry for operational excellence.

Entry requirements

To enter this course you should have a 1st or 2nd Class Honours degree in an appropriate discipline. However, entry qualifications are flexible and applications are welcomed for mature candidates and those with industrial experience. Students whose 1st language is not English should have achieved a minimum English language standard of IELTS 6.5. Alternatively students may be admitted with IELTS 6.0 if they attend a compulsory 5 week pre-sessional English course, operated by Coventry University, before joining their Master's programme.

Course modules

The course has the following modules: Master's project (industry or academic based); research methods and study skills; engineering materials processes; metrology, quality and engineering analysis; global lean and agile operations; digital manufacturing; advanced manufacturing technologies; automation and robotics; optimisation and simulation; new product introduction group project.
