Health Care Management
To provide an educational experience in which students can achieve an integrated understanding of the operation and strategy of business within the context of health care management, whilst also developing appropriate intellectual and personal skills.
Applicants should normally hold an Honours degree (preferably with a 2.1 classification), or a diploma in a health related discipline, as well as have evidence of continuing professional development that shows the ability to study at Master's level. Applications are encouraged from non-standard entrants with relevant experiential learning. Students may also apply for Accreditation of Prior (Experiential) Learning for specific modules, which will be reviewed individually by the Course Director. Students whose 1st language is not English are normally required to have minimum of IELTS 6.5 (preferably with a high mark in the written component), or equivalent e.g. TOEFL computer-based 250.
Modules include: Principles of marketing; financial analysis decision-making; human resource management; strategic health care management; contemporary issues in health; public health and health development; operational health care management; research methods; research dissertation.
