Atmospheric Emission Technology

This course is designed to provide up-to-date knowledge focussing on international and industrial emission monitoring and control technologies. In addition, latest atmospheric and air quality policy and modelling developments will be introduced to prepare students for a career as air quality monitoring and emissions technology experts within industry, environmental consultancies, or regulators.

Candidates must possess, or be expected to achieve, a 1st or 2nd Class UK Honours degree in a relevant science, engineering or related discipline, or the international equivalent of these UK qualifications. Other relevant qualifications, together with significant experience, may be considered. If you are an international student you will need to provide evidence that you have achieved a satisfactory test result in an English qualification. The minimum standard expected from a number of accepted courses are as follows: IELTS - 6.5; TOEFL - 92; Pearson PTE Academic - 65; Cambridge English Scale - 180; Cambridge English: Advanced - C; Cambridge English: Proficiency - C.

Course modules

Core modules; air pollution and monitoring methods; environmental management; process emission and control; energy production emissions control, carbon capture and transport; vehicle and air transport emission and control; atmospheric emissions theory and modelling; carbon capture technologies; process measurement systems.
