Intercultural Business Communications

The Intercultural Business Communication MSc will prepare and provide you with expertise in intercultural theory and practice, as well as specialist knowledge of global patterns in language use and the dynamics of communication amongst people from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Effective intercultural communication is important for success in the world of business and at Leicester Castle Business School; you will be given the guidance to develop your own effective oral and written business communication skills, use of professional language and confidence in communication.

Entry requirements

MSc: Minimum 2.2 Honours degree in a relevant subject, including business-related subjects, languages, translation, media, communication, and technology; applicants with no formal qualifications but extensive industry experience are considered on an individual basis; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with all components at no less than 5.5.

Course modules

Modules include: Intercultural communication theories and practices; communication competence in intercultural contexts; business in action; communication skills in intercultural contexts; managing advertising and communications; research methods; intercultural work experience; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessments include oral presentations; legal, marketing and business scenario reports; group work assignment; reflective reports; essay writing; case study reports; research proposal and dissertation.
