Global Banking and Finance

The Global Banking and Finance MSc programme will provide you with an understanding of domestic and global financial systems, the impact of global and domestic financial crises and covers issues of regulation and prudential supervision. You will study corporate finance, legal and regulatory environments, national and international standards, financial theory and have the opportunity to enhance your knowledge of alternative types of banking and contemporary issues in the field such as systemic failures and sector problems. This course is ideal for students who wish to pursue careers in financial regulation, banking, finance and investment management.

Entry requirements

MSc: You should hold a good honours degree or overseas equivalent, in an accounting, finance, banking or economics-related subject, or a professional qualification deemed to be of equivalent standing. If English is not your first language, an IELTS score of 6.0 (including a minimum of 5.5 in each component) or equivalent is normally required.

Course modules

Modules: Research methods; International financial markets and institutions; Corporate finance; Banking theory and practice; Econometrics; Finance theory; International banking and financial regulation; Financial derivatives. Either: Dissertation; Executive company project; Entrepreneurship project. Assessment methods

Assessment is through coursework (presentations, essays and reports) and usually an exam or test.
