Course modules

Exams are held at two stages – fundamental and professional. For part-time students in the UK, the subject schedule optimises choice while discouraging the combination of too many demanding subjects. Exemptions, based upon previous qualifications or experience, are available at the discretion of the ACCA.

We expect to offer the below Strategic Professional papers:

Strategic Professional Level – essentials

  • Strategic Business Reporting (SBR)
  • Strategic Business Leader (SBL)

Strategic Professional Level – options

Advanced Taxation (ATX)
Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA)

Note: All modules are subject to change in order to keep content current.

Assessment methods

Teaching and assessment

Please contact Dawn Davison ACCA programme leader for more details either by email at dawn.davison@dmu.ac.uk

Teaching contact hours

For each paper studied students will attend a three hour weekly session for 12 weeks. In addition to the classroom attendance students are required to complete an additional 3-6 hours of personal study per week. At the end of the 12 week programme there is a two day revision course to practice exam standard questions.

The Strategic Business Leader (SBL) paper requires additional teaching so students must be prepared to commit to a weekly day release course.

The ACCA rules prevent students from sitting more than four papers per sitting. Most students sit between one and three papers per sitting depending on work commitments. In deciding on how many papers to study students must ensure that they have sufficient time to complete the personal study part of the course in addition to classroom attendance.
