The course enables those already working in education and those interested in doing so to reflect upon the latest trends and developments in the field; it is designed to be of practical use to the student, their place of employment and their pupils; it focuses on contemporary issues and students are encouraged to use their own work place and experience as a basis for the assignments ensuring day to day relevance of the course.
2.1 Honours degree in any discipline and approximately 5 years teaching experience; for applicants with appropriate existing qualifications (for e.g. PGCE), the course offers accredited prior learning facilities of up to 60 credits; this should be discussed with the course leader at application stage; non-standard applications are considered according to their individual merits.
Researching education(compulsory); major project/dissertation (compulsory); students select from the following 30 credit optional modules: assessment and the curriculum; current and emergent issues; technology enhanced learning; inclusion in practice; learners and learning; managing educational.
Assessment may include a continuing professional development event with your employer.
