Current interests fall into 4 areas: policy and practice; learning; higher education; the history of education. Staff are working on research focused on disruptive behaviour in schools; information communication technology in education; learning cultures in post compulsory education; good practice and progress in higher education; disruptive behaviour in schools; the history of alternative models of pedagogy.

Entry requirements

For the MPhil: at least an Upper 2nd Class Honours degree from a British university or equivalent academic or professional qualifications; international qualifications may also be acceptable; for direct entry to the PhD: UK Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area, which should have been awarded within 5 years prior to application, including a component dealing with research methods; an equivalent academic or professional qualification, including international qualifications, may be acceptable.
