Fine Art Practice

The Fine Art Practices cluster consists of 14 researchers from the department of fine art with outcomes that include exhibitions of work (spanning a wide compass of fine art practices including installation, lens based and digital media, sonics, drawing, painting and sculpture), publications (as exhibition catalogues, books, articles, journal entries), residencies and curatorial projects. The research strategy and environment in Fine Art at De Montfort University is rigorous, expansive and responsive to encouraging staff and students in cutting edge research.

Entry requirements

For the MPhil: a good Honours degree in a relevant subject; or equivalent relevant experience; PhD: research Master's degree; or equivalent experience; portfolio; statement; application form.

Course modules

Theory of painting; sculpture; drawing; mixed media; video; photography; electronic media; multidisciplinary forms.

Assessment methods

Major project developed under supervision.
