The course meets the advancing professional needs of nurses wishing to progress in to senior positions within healthcare organisations or higher education institutions worldwide. It also helps you advance current practice, undertake further research or progress to PhD study.

Entry requirements

Minimum 2.2 class Honours degree awarded by a British university or other equivalent approved degree awarding college/body; professional qualification as a healthcare practitioner, with current registration with the relevant healthcare professional body and current involvement in professional practice; 2 references required, 1 giving emphasis to academic and clinical ability; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, with writing and speaking skills at no less than 6.0.

Course modules

Modules include: Strategic leadership and effective management; advanced healthcare governance and patient safety; advanced health through professional practice; communication competence and skills in intercultural contexts.

Assessment methods

Assessment includes essays; reports; assessed seminars and a research dissertation.

Funding for this course maybe available through the East Midlands Local Education Training Board (LETB).
