This is a flexible distance learning study mode for busy professionals. The CIH MSc in Housing Studies is the second stage of the CIH�s work-related qualification which leads to corporate membership of the CIH. Students can choose to exit, upon successful completion of 120 Level 7 credits over 2 years.
Normally a degree, relevant HND/HNC or 5 years relevant work experience in a managerial position; the programme team considers applicants from a range of other backgrounds.
Year 1 modules: 3 core modules and 3 optional modules and the context of housing. Students can choose 2 modules from; housing with care and support; planning and development; regeneration and sustainable neighbourhoods; customer and neighbourhood services; asset management; finance for housing. Year 2 modules: housing organisations; housing research and a choice of one module from housing with care and support; planning and development; regeneration and sustainable neighbourhoods; finance for housing.
Assessment is through a variety of ways throughout the course, but students should note that attendance at a 2 day residential course where their presentation and group working skills are assessed, is mandatory.
