This programme will give students the opportunity to equip themselves with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue a career in economics and related disciplines.
MSc: The equivalent of a UK 1st or upper 2nd Class Honours degree with evidence on your degree transcript of strong grades in statistical modules in your 2nd, 3rd or 4th year and that your programme contained a substantial Economics component. If your 1st language is not English: IELTS of 6.5 (no element under 6.0) or TOEFL 92 (no element under 23).
Students will study: advanced macroeconomics; advanced microeconomics; public choice; public economics. Based on prior knowledge and experience students will be streamed to study 1 of the following module pairings: econometrics 1 and econometrics 2; econometrics 1 and microeconometrics; econometric methods and microeconometrics; econometric methods and financial modelling and business forecasting. Elective modules: behavioural finance and economics, econometrics; experimental economics and finance; international finance; labour economics; money and banking.
Assessment methods include 12,000-word dissertation.
