This course provides an opportunity for you to develop an in-depth understanding of the theory and practice of accounting as well as the critical thinking skills so valued by employers. The course covers key accounting topics including financial statements and their preparation, the practical limitations of financial reporting, and the regulatory framework and its complexities.
Entry requirements
MSc: The equivalent of a UK 1st or upper 2nd Class Honours degree. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum 6.0 in each component) or equivalent.
Course modules
Modules include: Accounting theory; auditing and assurance services; contemporary issues in accounting and taxation; corporate governance; corporate reporting; financial planning and control; financial statement analysis; research methods and methodology in accounting.
Assessment methods
Assessment methods include 12,000-word dissertation.
