Upper 2nd class Honours degree; Master's degree usually required for PhD; English language proficiency to the University's required standard; English language requirements include an overall band score of at least 7.0 in the IELTS test (with no element below 6.0) or at least 102 in the TOEFL iBT (Internet Based Test) (with no element under 23), both achieved within 2 years of the programme start date.
Assessment by thesis of up to 100,000 words which assessed by viva; the subject of the thesis is a substantial piece of original research through which students demonstrate their ability to undertake independent research.
