Accounting, Finance and Management
This course develops understanding of advanced accounting by examining a range of contemporary finance and management topics, whilst also engaging the students in research methods and the undertaking of a significant research exercise. Students develop a clearer vision and understanding of the changing role and perception of accounting and related areas within the context of changing global markets, competition and shifting societal values. On successful completion of the programme, students are prepared to face the challenges of managing and working in organisations with a wide array of competing economic, social, political and cultural conditions.
Applicants should have a 1st or upper 2nd Class Honours degree, or equivalent, in accounting or a related discipline; in exceptional circumstances, students with a lower 2nd Class Honours degree with demonstrable knowledge of their subject matter may be admitted at the department�s discretion; overseas applicants are considered on an individual basis and are expected to demonstrate IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
Modules: Issues in corporate reporting; advanced performance management; advanced financial management; advanced audit and assurance; business strategy and analysis; research methodologies and methods in accounting; dissertation in accounting, finance and management; consultancy challenge in accounting, finance and management.
