Cyber Security

Students develop an understanding of current issues in information security and cyber security, together with an in-depth knowledge of a variety of techniques for strategically managing IT, both as a resource and for analysing and controlling security risks.

Entry requirements

To join this MSc, students should have a degree equivalent to UK 2nd Class Honours, comprising 50% or more of content in a computing-related discipline. Equivalent knowledge gained in alternative ways, for example through professional experience or completion of BCS Professional Diploma in IT (Level 6), is also accepted for entry to this programme. For overseas applicants, IELTS 6.5 or equivalent is required.

Course modules

Network security; information security management; computer forensics; system penetration testing; research methods; research and development project. Select 1 of the following: IT strategy and management; cloud application management and security. Select 1 of the following: Industrial placement; reflective practitioner.
