This programme combines taught modules and independent study to give students a firm grounding in the critical approaches to postgraduate study as well as the philosophies and methodologies of research in the humanities. Students develop their knowledge and understanding of literature in the field of Media before the culmination of the course, which is the opportunity to undertake in-depth and extended research and practice in a specific Media area of their choosing.
Applicants should have a 1st or 2.1 Honours degree in an appropriate or cognate discipline; in exceptional circumstances, students with 2.2 Honours degrees and/or demonstrable knowledge of their subject matter may be admitted at the department�s discretion; overseas applicants are considered on an individual basis and are expected to demonstrate IELTS 7.0 or equivalent.
Researching media and culture; film and media theory and analysis; literature review, commentary and initial bibliography; dissertation.
