Nursing (Pre-Registration Adult)

Nursing is one of the most rewarding careers to enter, and more importantly, it is a privilege. Adult Nurses work with people who have a diverse range of health conditions, some of whom will be facing the most challenging life events. As an Adult Nurse you will need to deliver care to a range of clients with acute and complex care needs, and meet the challenges of a changing healthcare environment. This Masters degree provides the exciting opportunity for graduates to enter the nursing profession. You will gain a comprehensive education in nursing and develop into a confident, autonomous, compassionate and research-aware practitioner, specialising in adult nursing. The programme includes an innovative exploration of leadership and management in healthcare and will enable you to critically evaluate evidence to inform decision making and apply analytical and creative problem solving approaches to complex situations. You will be fully equipped with the skills, knowledge and practical experience required to deliver excellent care as a modern-day nursing professional.

Entry requirements

MSc: To join this programme, you should have an honours degree at 2:2 or above in a health-related subject (other subjects may be considered on an individual basis). You will also need GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics. Eligible candidates must provide evidence of study within the five years prior to application and be able to demonstrate relevant voluntary/work experience. An interview will form part of the selection process. For overseas applicants, IELTS 7.0 or equivalent is required. Pre-registration nursing programmes are typically at least three years in duration so, in order to join this two-year MSc, you will need to demonstrate prior learning. In order to meet the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) requirements of this programme, you will be expected to provide a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate how you have met a minimum of 500 hours of appropriate voluntary or occupational experience. Further details about RPL will be sent to you upon submission of your initial application.
